This craft activity came about following our visit to the Big Pineapple where my boys were mesmerised by the Owl Show..... and the fact they were able to pat the owl .... and watch it eat a mouse!!! On the way home we made a stop at Spotlight where we collected some cheap bits of material. I cut them up for the boys and gave them an owl template which I drew and left them to collage the owls. While they were busy collaging I cut some circles out for them and together we made some Owls Eyes! I have a favourite picture book to share! Granted, I discover favourite picture books almost weekly, but if you don't know it, please look out for this one. It's Owl Babies, written by Martin Waddell.Children learn best when they are excited and engaged in learning which challenges them and shows them what they can do and stretches and excites their imagination. When there is joy in what they are doing, they learn to love learning. By offering every child – whatever their own individual characteristics – the chance to achieve their full potential we give them foundations for future learning, and for success in life.
